Shoaib holds the world record for the five fastest balls in history. Nowadays, a new rising Indian cricketer, Umran Malik, known as Jammu Express, is in the headlines of all magazines.

In IPL 2022, he stunned everyone with his consistent fastest bowling. The news has gone viral on social media about Umran Malik breaking Shoaib Akhtar's world record for throwing the fastest ball.

Umran bowled the ball at a speed of 163.7 kmph during the second practice session of Team India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the first match against South Africa.

It is more than the record of former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar. Some photos on social media have a 163.7 kph mark on the bowling machine.

But is that true?

Since there is no concrete information about this besides social media posts, this news must have been prepared and has no truth.

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistan fast bowler, set a record by bowling at a speed of 161.3 kph against New Zealand in 2002.

Shoaib was the only bowler at the international level to cross the 100 mph mark. Umran came close to Shoaib's record several times by throwing a ball at more than 150 kmph during IPL 2022.

During the tournament, Umran threw the third-fastest ball of 157 kmph, a record in the history of IPL.

While playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, Umran took 22 wickets and ranked among the top five wicket-takers.

Due to his outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League, he has been selected for the five-match T20 International series against South Africa starting on Thursday, June 8, 2022.
