Obi Wan Kenobi series is a fiction series that is set in the Star Wars universe. It follows Obi-Wan Kenobi as he spends 70 years on the backwater planet Tatooine before being pulled into a rebellion against Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. With the help of his friends, like Anakin Skywalker’s old Jedi Knights, and his love Padme Amidala, Obi-Wan must save Luke Skywalker from becoming Darth Vader’s apprentice while also figuring out what to do about Old Ben himself, who is aging rapidly and still fearful that he might not be able to defeat Palpatine again after failing 60 years ago when they first met.
The series takes place in the Star Wars timeline and canon. The books of this series are loosely connected and can be read as stand-alone. The whole series is written in the third person limited point of view.
In two cases (Duel and Legacy), combined the two stories to make one book that follows the events of both stories. In these cases, Palpatine was also part of the second story, with Anakin Skywalker a major character in Legacy.
When Obi-Wan Kenobi was 19 years old (70 years before the events of A New Hope), he became a moisture farmer on Tatooine, where he met Dewlanna, who would become Shmi Skywalker’s best friend.
At age 30, Obi-Wan Kenobi married Shmi Skywalker, a human woman who lived on the desert planet of Tatooine. In 8 BBY, they had one son: Anakin Skywalker.
After 20 years of marriage, Obi-Wan and Shmi were on their way to Naboo when Trade Federation battle droids attacked their ship. They were saved from death by Jar Jar Binks, who found them in the desert. The three stayed together for the next 10 years as they traveled across the galaxy, including stopping the invasion at Hoth in which Obi-Wan killed Admiral Ozzel and Poe Dameron. Upon finding Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan was reunited with the boy he hadn’t seen since 9 BBY. The two were on their way to Coruscant when unwittingly pulled them into the Battle of Naboo, which Obi-Wan won with a blaster in his belt.
During this part of the story, Anakin Skywalker was Obi-Wan’s only child. He also donned the robes of a Jedi like Luke started doing beginning in The Empire Strikes Back.
After one year on Naboo, Anakin went with Obi-Wan and Shmi to Nal Hutta, where he became an outlaw just like his father before him.
